A long-awaited book!

Fabrice MOIREAU traveled through Arcangues to immortalize what the passerby's eye cannot capture. The angle of a building, a detail, a landscape, a hidden farm. Thanks to his watercolors, he offers a radiant book in which light and shadow emphasize the hidden beauty of this village.

A highly anticipated book to reveal the full richness of Arcangues.

Finally, a beautiful book about Arcangues

Arcangues is known for its chateau, the marquises who attracted all the high society there, the tomb of Luis Mariano, and its golf course. It must also be said that the view of the Pyrenees from the cemetery surrounding the church is one of the most beautiful in the Basque Country. All that was missing was a beautiful book to illustrate this village, its magnificent landscapes, and tell its story. This has now been done since Fabrice Moireau brought out his palette and brushes there. The book brings together about a hundred watercolors created over four seasons. The history of the village, that of the chateau, the richness of the surrounding nature, and some remarkable architectures are revealed and told with short texts written by experienced authors.

The authors of the book Arcangues

Fabrice MOIREAU
Fabrice Moireau is visiting the Basque Country for the second time. After Biarritz, he sets up his tripod in Arcangues. He masterfully controls the subtlety of light effects, the rendering of an atmosphere, the serenity of a landscape. He sees like an architect, works like an "impressionistic photographer" and gives a primary place to drawing.
This watercolourist graduated from the Olivier de Serres National School of Applied Arts and Crafts. He is passionate about architectural heritage, gardens, and landscapes. He has worked for Louis Vuitton and the Faiencerie de Gien, paints annually at the Chaumont-sur-Loire International Garden Festival, and collaborates regularly with the Château Cheval Blanc estate. After publishing around thirty books (Éditions du Pacifique, among others), Koegui editions commissioned Biarritz, then Arcangues in co-edition with the publisher Askatasuna.

Michel d'ARCANGUES
Michel d’ARCANGUES worked in audiovisuals. He is vice-president of Caroni Music, a company that publishes South American music scores. He is the author of several books, including Arcangues (1999) and Trinquets et jeux de paume du Pays Basque (2019) published by Kilika editions.

Sophie CAZAUMAYOU
Sophie CAZAUMAYOU holds a doctorate in cultural anthropology. She has been working with Koegui editions for over ten years and has carried out several editorial missions for them. After the success of the book Biarritz, she returns to the roads of Arcangues alongside Fabrice MOIREAU.

Mano CURUTCHARRY
Mano (Marie-Léonie) CURUTCHARRY is a delegated curator of antiques and art objects for the Ministry of Culture. She has been exploring the Basque Country since 2013 for the preservation of movable heritage. She was a history and geography teacher (Denmark, Normandy, Aquitaine) for 26 years and carried out "heritage" missions for the Bordeaux rectorate from 1989 to 2012, including creating and managing the Argitu educational service at the Basque Museum and the History of Bayonne.
In contact with the communes of the Bayonne district, she works for the heritage enhancement of the town center of Arcangues.
