Fabrice MOIREAU's watercolors offer a fresh perspective on Biarritz's architecture, renowned for its exceptional villas. The artist wandered through the streets, stopping at emblematic or little-known buildings, capturing an original angle, seizing a particular light that he reproduces in his watercolors.

A literary touch is provided by the introduction from novelist Dominique de SAINT PERN. Historical clarification is given by Sophie CAZAUMAYOU, who followed the watercolorist through the streets.

The authors of the book Biarritz

Fabrice MOIREAU
Fabrice Moireau is a graduate of the Olivier de Serres National School of Applied Arts and Crafts. Passionate about architectural heritage, gardens, and plants, his constant quest is to translate, through watercolor, the subtlety of light effects and to convey the atmosphere of a street, a landscape, or a waterway. He sees like an architect, works like an "impressionistic" photographer, and gives primary importance to drawing. All this is seasoned with an incredible sense of color! His goal: to accurately capture the ambiance. After publishing about twenty works illustrating cities and regions of France and Europe, as well as New York, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, and working for Louis Vuitton, Les Éditions du Pacifique, Gallimard, and the Cheval Blanc estate, he sets up his tripod in Biarritz.

Dominique de SAINT PERN
Dominique de Saint Pern is renowned for her novels highlighting the lives of extraordinary women, including Baronne Blixen and Edmonde, a biography of Edmonde Charles-Roux, the second volume of which will be released in spring 2022. A lover of Biarritz since childhood, she settled there permanently after a career as a journalist at L'Express, Elle, and then Marie-Claire, where she was editor-in-chief.
In her introduction, she adds a literary touch with her novelist's perspective and invites readers to stroll through the streets of Biarritz.

Sophie CAZAUMAYOU
Sophie CAZAUMAYOU is a loyal member of the KOEGUI team. A historian and doctor in cultural anthropology, she contributes to several publications, including Bayonne pendant la guerre 1914-1918 and Dominique Duplantier's Saint-Jean-de-Luz, which she accompanied through the streets of the corsair city. She repeats the experience with Fabrice Moireau and offers a text to accompany the artist's watercolors and provide some historical insights for the curious.
