Dominique DUPLANTIER
Dominique Duplantier was born in Bordeaux in 1945. After studying history at the Faculty of Letters, he joined the Beaux-Arts de Paris where he learned engraving.
His meeting with Claude Aubert, the architect in charge of renovating the Saint-Pierre district of Bordeaux, was decisive for the rest of his career. For him, he drew the "axonometric" plan of this historic district of Bordeaux. The same year, he drew the plan of Bayonne, which he exhibited at the Bonnat Museum with the plates from his book Bayonne, published by éditions d'Utovie.
Two years of intensive work were required to survey and create the drawings for the book Bordeaux, les rues du centre historique (Bordeaux, the streets of the historic center).
Francine CALLEDE
A trained draughtswoman and engraver, she learned watercolor and has been coloring most of the plans drawn by Dominique Duplantier since 1995. Her expertise and palette of colors are perfectly suited to highlighting the drawings of buildings and monuments, their facades of blonde stone, sculpted with mascarons and ornaments.
Hélène MAYDIEU-MAFFRE
Hélène Maydieu-Maffre was an engineer at the Heritage and Inventory Department of the Ministry of Culture, then of the Aquitaine Region. In this capacity, she particularly studied rural architecture in Entre-deux Mers and constructions in the Bordeaux region.
Philippe MAFFRE
Philippe Maffre holds a doctorate in Art History, is an engineer at the Regional Conservation of Historical Monuments of Aquitaine, and curator of Antiquities and Works of Art of the Gironde.
In numerous articles and various publications, he has contributed to a better understanding of private construction in Bordeaux in the 18th century. A native of Gironde, he has also offered some original reflections on various subjects, always related to Bordeaux or the region.
Dominique DUSSOL
An art historian, Dominique Dussol specializes in the study of 19th and 20th-century painting and has written numerous books and articles, including: Art et bourgeoisie, La Société des Amis des arts de Bordeaux (1851-1939); exhibition catalogs on Rosa Bonheur, Alfred Roll, Évariste Luminais, Eugène Bulland... on Bordeaux artists: Pierre-Albert Bégaud, Émile Brunet, Edmond Boissonnet, Pierre Molinier, René Princeteau or L'Art abstrait à Bordeaux (Abstract Art in Bordeaux), as well as on 20th-century artists: Robert Combas, Gérard Garouste, Jean-Pierre Raynaud... For fifteen years, he was an art critic for the newspaper Sud-Ouest.
His interest in heritage began in the 1980s, when he was a research officer at the Bordeaux Protected Sector. For many years, he has collaborated with the art and heritage magazine Le Festin, of which he was editor-in-chief, then editorial director and president of the scientific committee. In particular, he co-edited the special issue Bordeaux en 101 monuments (Bordeaux in 101 Monuments). He curated about twenty exhibitions, including Bordeaux, entre le ciel et l'eau (Bordeaux, between sky and water) (capc Museum of Contemporary Art of Bordeaux / Munich, Lenbachhaus Museum), Bégaud (Bordeaux Museum of Fine Arts) or Collections / collectionneurs, Traits pour traits, Jacques Villéglé (Saint-Vincent Church, Mérignac).
