Test

An "épreuve" (proof) is the pulling of a print to check the state of the artist's work. This pulling is called the first proof and is generally not signed by the artist. Collectors seek out these first proofs. Proofs can be pulled at different stages of the engraving process to allow the artist to modify and perfect it.
