Finishing tools
Gilding tools are generally made of copper and consist of straight, curved, or broken lines of varying thickness, as well as patterns, ornaments, corners, and coats of arms, engraved in relief on the copper, which are used to impress gold onto the boards and spine of books. Each period had tools of particular styles.
