Mosaic

A mosaic binding is a binding whose covers and spine are decorated with various colored morocco leather ornaments, connected by gilt fillets. Before the end of the 17th century, mosaic pieces were inlaid into the leather. Pasdeloup and Derôme began to apply the pieces on top.
