Bound with Campaigns of 1813 and 1814, on the Ebro, the Pyrenees, and the Garonne, preceded by considerations on the last war in Spain, by the same author.

Well-preserved bound volume bringing together two first editions of the writings of Édouard Lapène (1790-1854), an author who made it his duty to explain recent history to his contemporary readers. These two volumes perfectly complement each other, with the first dealing with Napoleon's campaign in Spain, while the second evokes the end of the occupation of Spain and the French rout resulting from the Allies' efforts.

Set of two volumes bound as one, with late 19th-century half-blond sheepskin binding with small joints. Smooth spine, richly decorated with gilded palettes and motifs, gilt title. Minor soiling on the spine. Worn boards. All edges marbled. Endpaper partially detached. Scattered foxing on the pages. Good condition of the content, adorned with a black and white fold-out map.
