Underneath this beautiful brown morocco binding with a handsomely decorated spine lies a compilation of several texts written by the somewhat well-traveled French author, Pierre Louÿs. All enhanced with some finely crafted black and white illustrations to facilitate immersion in the text.

Binding in brown half-morocco with bradel corners. Smooth spine with gilt friezes, floral motifs, title, and author's name, also featuring a red mosaic vase. Gilt date at the tail. Boards with gilt fillets on the edges of the card. Gilt top edge. Headcaps, joints, and corners slightly rubbed. Small stain on the front cover. Remarkable binding. Ex-libris in the form of a label on the pastedown. Cream cover and spine very well preserved. Color frontispiece under serpentine. Excellent condition of the contents adorned with black and white initials, headbands, and tailpieces, as well as in-text black and white illustrations. Multicolor fabric bookmark attached to the text. Fine copy.
