LIMITED EDITION of 512 numbered copies. This one, reserved for the publisher Albert Messein (justified and signed by F. Ferroud in ink) and PRINTED ON IMPERIAL JAPAN PAPER, contains an additional state of the 25 etchings on covers and out-of-text, before the letter, with remarks, as well as a separate suite of the 53 vignettes in bistre on China paper, bound at the end.

Half tobacco morocco binding. Spine with false raised bands adorned with gilt dots and 2 small mosaic coral pieces. Gilt top edge. Covers and spine preserved. Binding signed Creuzevault. With 25 original etchings by Léon Lebègue, including 2 on the covers and 23 discreetly hand-colored with watercolor out-of-text, and 53 blue-colored sepia vignettes within the text. The composition on the front cover is beautifully enhanced with watercolor and gold.
