LIMITED EDITION OF 115 COPIES ON ARCHES PAPER, 100 OF WHICH WERE RELEASED FOR SALE AND SUBSCRIBED BY A. DUREL, BOOKSELLER. THIS IS ONE OF THE 75 WITH SUCCESSIVE IMPRESSIONS OF A SINGLE ETCHING. THIS COPY IS WITHOUT THESE IMPRESSIONS.
The copy is enhanced with:– 44 plates of original drawings or frames in ink or color, including: 9 color drawings, one in black, one title drawing in black, 28 black frames, 4 color frames, and one plate adorned with 7 black tailpieces;
– the signed autograph poem Au Lac d'Annecy (3 ff. in-8);– the publishing contract with Lemerre and his receipt, Antoine Girard: a signed autograph letter
(one ff. in-8) dated August 8, 1898, granting him permission to freely dispose of the 115 copies of the illustrated volume of Fleurs de cyclamens for the sum of 200 francs and 5 copies of the work. As well as the receipt dated June 27, 1899, signed by Lemerre fils, related to this sum and these 5 complimentary copies;– an original overall photograph, in black and white;– 2 articles concerning this publication: one by Georges Vicaire taken from the Revue de publications nouvelles (2 ff.) and the other unsigned taken from the Revue biblio-iconographique (2 ff.).Also included is a signed autograph letter from the illustrator to Antoine Girard (2 1/2 pp. in-12), concerning an incident that occurred at Durel's.

In a bordered slipcase and half-morocco chemise with overlapping edges. Full blue morocco binding. Spine with 4 raised bands, decorated. Gilt fillet frame with wine-red and brown morocco strips. Fillets on the edges, gilt inner garland, olive morocco doublure, large decoration of mosaic flowers and cyclamen leaves in green, violet, and mauve morocco with gilt settings, gilt monograms, pale green brocaded silk endpapers. All edges gilt. Binding signed Marius MICHEL.
Edition illustrated with 11 color etchings, including the cover, the ornamented title, 2 headpieces, 2 tailpieces, the half-titles, and 3 full-page plates, by André-Charles COPPIER. The text is adorned with floral woodcut borders, hand-colored. Vicaire praises Coppier's work, which "achieves an innovation in polychrome printmaking" and "aimed to achieve, in the execution of his compositions, the greatest variety of tones, and the illusion and freshness of original watercolors."
