Contemporary half green calf binding with small hinges, smooth spine adorned with gilt pallets and blind-stamped florets, gilt volume number, author, and title, green cloth boards with blind-stamped border frieze. Some foxing. Slight wear to hinges and corners. Volume 1: one frontispiece protected by tissue guard and 11 plates outside the text. Volume 2: one frontispiece protected by tissue guard and 9 plates outside the text. The engravings are by COUCHÉ Fils, engraver to the cabinet of the late H.R.H. The Duke of Berry.
