LIMITED EDITION of 736 numbered copies. This is one of 12 nominative copies on imperial Japan paper reserved for the 12 bibliophiles of Crapouillot who financed the book's publication, printed for Maurice Sauzey. It contains a suite of the plates on imperial Japan paper and an original watercolor, with an autographed dedication signed by the author and the illustrator.

Copy enriched with a SIGNED LETTER by the author, two articles from Le Monde concerning the work, 10 loose sheets with Crapouillot letterhead, 9 typewritten and one autograph, most signed by Galtier-Boissière, relating to the financing and establishment of the work.

In a bordered slipcase and half-morocco folding box with overlaps. Full garnet morocco binding decorated with gilt fillets and a blue and red box rectangle adorned with two white discs. Smooth spine with title, slate blue velvet doublures and endpapers, double endpapers. All edges gilt on vellum. Covers and spine preserved. Binding signed MAROT-RODDE.
Edition illustrated with 35 original color compositions by Pierre FALKÉ, including 16 out of text.
