A monumental historical and genealogical work on the House of Gramont, begun in 1947 by R. RITTER to complete a work started by Jean de JAURGAIN, halted by his death in 1920, and continued by Jean DUFAU de MALUQUER. J. de JAURGAIN's text occupies part of Volume I (The title page of Volume I reads: Jean de Jaurgain and Raymond Ritter, that of Volume II: Raymond Ritter alone). The drawings of seals and coats of arms, as well as the map of Bidache, are by Marcel FAGET. This work received the Prix Broquette-Gonin from the Académie Française.

Half red morocco leather-bound slipcases and covers. Set of two volumes with cream, soft, printed covers. Minor foxing on covers and edges. Untrimmed and unopened pages. Good condition of the content, adorned with in-text black and white drawings by Marcel FAGET. A handwritten letter signed by Raymond RITTER and addressed to André DUSSERT (1973) is included with the lot.

Volume 2: Adorned with XXIV black and white out-of-text plates. Ex-libris stamped in green on the last page.
