"Synopsis: Léon Delmont is on a train from Paris to Rome to surprise his mistress and tell her that he is leaving his wife and children so they can live together in Paris. During the 21-hour journey, the reader is immersed in the character's skin and thoughts, in the changing wagon and surroundings, as well as in his memories, plans, dreams, and hallucinations. La Modification is the story of the change that will occur in this character, as upon his arrival in Rome, he will not even see his mistress and will decide, instead, to write a book about this story."
