A fervent advocate of modern art, René Deroudille (1911-1992) constantly worked to promote cultural activity, particularly in plastic arts, in Lyon and its region.

Maurice Der Markarianwas born in Paris on June 22, 1928. As soon as he finished his studies, he attended a branch of the Beaux-Arts that opened its workshops in the evenings. During the day, for three years, he studied photographic art processes. Photography enabled him to gain the financial independence necessary for his research as a draftsman and painter. In 1957, he held his first exhibition in Paris at the Salon de la Jeune Peinture of the Museum of Modern Art, and at the Grand Palais. In his works, he tried to bring out the violence and sadness of a person, notably with his work: "The Clowns". He died in August 2002.
