ORIGINAL LIMITED EDITION to 472 copies reimposed in quarto Tellière. This one of the 96 copies on Hollande paper.

UNIQUE COPY enhanced with 39 ORIGINAL PENCIL AND PEN DRAWINGS, watercolored, by Maurice Savin (1894-1973), including one full-page and 38 in the margin of the text, some bearing the artist's signature. The latter added "illustrated by Savin" in pen on the title page. Mobilized during the war, Maurice Savin was wounded twice and received the Croix de Guerre (War Cross).

EXCEPTIONAL COPY FROM THE LIBRARY OF COUTURIER PAUL POIRET, with his monogram stamped on the back cover, and bound by Simone Saintu, childhood friend of Louis-Ferdinand Céline.

Full attractive white morocco binding, red in vertical strips covering the covers, with the gilt monogram "P. P." on the second cover. Smooth spine with gilt title and date at the tail. Gilt turn-ins. Endpapers from 1914 newspaper clippings, double gilt fillet on the edges, gilt top edge, untrimmed. Covers and spine preserved. Binding signed S. Saintu. Minor rubbing to the binding, and the spine is slightly stained.
