Jean Rousselot (1913-2004) was a French poet and writer. During the Second World War, he made contact with the Resistance and used his position as a police commissioner to hide escaped prisoners. In 1946, he resigned from the Sûreté Nationale and decided to live by his pen. He became an untiring defender of poetry, poets, and freedom, and one of the greatest critics of his generation. From 1946 to 1973, he published thirty pamphlets or volumes of poetry.
