Illustrated with color wood engravings by F.-L. SCHMIED: cover bandeau, 2 full-page engravings, and 115 bandeaus, tailpieces, and vignettes. For this work, F.-L. Schmied adopts a curious layout: two columns separated by a set of five red rules, reserving an empty space below them equal in height to the width of a column; the woodblocks, of very diverse sizes, sometimes serving as line endings, are distributed very freely within this strict framework.
