Written largely in hospital, this short novel features an avatar of the author. Contemplating the world with childlike eyes, Rollmops considers "the things around him without caring about the importance other men give them, valuing them for their own worth outside of established conventions." From his creator, Rollmops inherited his height, and disproportionately large feet and hands. Like him, he discovers that he can read without having learned and doesn't "fully understand the purpose and importance of secondary education. (cf: gusbofa.com)
