Second Suite of Prints to illustrate the history of Fashions and Costume in France in the 18th Century, year 1776.

Comprising 12 prints mounted on tabs, numbered 13 to 24. This series was preceded in 1775 by a first suite, also of 12 pieces, engraved after drawings by Freudeberg. It was followed in 1783 by a third, for which Moreau le Jeune again provided the drawings. This second suite describes a fashionable woman from her maternity to her first outing and her activities with her child.

The idea for this collection, which became famous, belongs, according to the announcement inserted in the "Mercure" in January 1775 (pp. 194-195), to "an ardent amateur." This was Jean-Henri Eberts, a Swiss banker.
