A charming copy of this chapbook, illustrated with numerous woodcuts in the text (including 4 full-page), a frontispiece, and 7 woodcut plates, 2 of which are fold-out. The date and address are likely fictitious, and the work was probably printed in the early 19th century. A discerning reader was less interested in the chapters "How to change lead into fine gold" or "To make gold artificially" than in the secret tips for love, and crossed out or approved in pencil (after experimenting with them?) most of the 22 chapters describing them.
